Hypothesis (9A)

My five interviews were rather unsupportive of my idea saying that it would never really grown into anything. We recognized that butlers and other chores services exist, but most for the wealthy who don’t have a lot of time. My business focuses on people who are lazy. I’d have to focus on keeping my price low for that reason, which would be achieved by focusing on the completion of the most tedious chore which people don’t like to do. I will maintain that the business would only focus on doing people dishes. Other businesses focus on people who don’t have the time to fulfill the chore, or the arbitrary refusal to complete the task. For that reason, I think focusing my advertising on students who are notoriously over worked would be the best bet (e.g. medical school students and engineering students). I’ve already mentioned how the outside business have a different cause than I do. And that difference in cause is what I believe will allow this business to be successful.

Students (specifically students doing engineering and medical school); Lazy and busy people in general; people who cook a lot
The rich, hardworking individuals, people with dishwashers
Do dishes
Laziness fixer, general chore completion
Students can be lazy and overworked
Not having a dishwasher means that doing the dishes can be quite frequent and tedious

My Business Venture (8A)

So, my stated issue was that people are so lazy that they’d prefer to outsource the need to do the dishes to another person. I could go around Gainesville posting advertisements in places with a lot of student traffic offering my services. I would personally stand in Turlington Plaza or by Midtown and offer my service of cleaning other people’s dishes. This is for the purpose of quickly implementing my business solution.

My Venture (7A)

Many homes in Gainesville don’t have dishwashers, and as such require households to wash their dishes manually.
Who: Households in Gainesville
What: Need to wash their dishes manually
Why: They don’t have a dishwasher
Everyone described who uses dishes that need washing have this need. People who don’t know how to use their dishwasher would also have this need. Household chores in general that need to get done can get done by this opportunity. I would essentially become a butler. The real why is related to people simply being lazy and finding value in conveniently having others do their chores for them.

From the interviews: I found most people agree that it can be expanded into just butler services. If I were to maintain the washing dishes aspect, I’d have to have multiple employees to cover multiple homes. If I were to focus as myself being the sole employee, marketing my services would be the ultimate goals and initial hurdle. The who, what, and why described are limited, but for the purpose of starting the service quickly having a narrow focus is ideal.
