My five interviews were rather
unsupportive of my idea saying that it would never really grown into anything.
We recognized that butlers and other chores services exist, but most for the
wealthy who don’t have a lot of time. My business focuses on people who are
lazy. I’d have to focus on keeping my price low for that reason, which would be
achieved by focusing on the completion of the most tedious chore which people
don’t like to do. I will maintain that the business would only focus on doing
people dishes. Other businesses focus on people who don’t have the time to fulfill
the chore, or the arbitrary refusal to complete the task. For that reason, I
think focusing my advertising on students who are notoriously over worked would
be the best bet (e.g. medical school students and engineering students). I’ve
already mentioned how the outside business have a different cause than I do.
And that difference in cause is what I believe will allow this business to be
successful.

Hi Mitch,
ReplyDeleteI think you did well to think about the people who falls in and out of your business idea. You demonstrated that you are aware of the boundaries like the price of your services. I agree that you would have to keep your prices low for college students who simply don't want to do their dishes. It is the one chore that most college students don't want to complete and probably won't mind spending a few dollars to get it done by someone else.
I like that your operation of of identifying who you won't be selling to helps you define your price range. I believe this is one of the most useful things that can come out of this exercise. I also like how you structured your post aswell. I had no idea how to make boxes like that
